Celvi shook her head furiously, her hair flying through the air around her head. Every word he said showed once again they were like miles apart in their general and specific views of the world. She tried not to be overly righteous most of the time, but here she could not stand down. He still didn't know what he was talking about. Truth, Lie, Right, Wrong, these abstract words sounded so impossible aloof when coming from his mouth. Did he think just because he had the royal gene he had a monopol on all the world's truth?
"Oh, really?" She countered, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Too bad you're not taking after her then. You think you so-called Royalty are any better just because you belong to the right family? Even thinking yourself above us makes you master in what you call the game that never ends!"
Him calling her a spy was like another vicious slap in the face and it actually made her wince. Even though she could see he was on the verge of exploding, his face slowly turning crimson with anger, she couldn't bring herself to stop. Not now, most likely not ever. What had happened to the shy, reserved Celvi Gray? She had never felt like this before, not even in her most dreadful 'fay moment'. She didn't even recognize herself anymore, and that scared her underneath all that rage and hate. This foreign girl needed to get a grip on herself pretty soon, or the outcome might be more than just uncertain…
And suddenly, somehow some of her rage simply evaporated as she heared him sound his next words. She could feel he was finally saying something truthful, forgetting all pretenses and masks for once. It was almost enough to make him earn some respect back. Almost…
"You don't have to tell me that", she said, her voice too soft to match her still angry mood. "I know I will never fully understand it until I see it. But I know that war does not solve any problems than that of overpopulation. There is no right or wrong there, just pointless death. And still on we fight."
But this short moment of understanding between the two vanished as quickly as it had occurred. This was a war between two people, but it had almost the same pretext as its big brother: Both thought they were right and fought for their opinion. And just like the grand war it would never stop, cause none of the two would give in.
"Honorable", she hissed with gleaming eyes. "Well, maybe. But it's also a good excuse for anything else, isn't it? 'My honor forbids me to strike women'", she quoted him. "'My honor forbids me to give straight and honest answers' oh and, of course 'My honor is choking the life out of me until nothing remains but an empty shell. It's not my fault, it's that darn honor.'" She held his gaze with her furious own. "You might not be a traitor to the crown, but you are surely a traitor to yourself!"
When he bowed and, in her eyes, fled the scene, she all but wanted to call out to him, forcing him to stay and be truthful for once. But her pride wouldn't let her. So she just stood there, fuming and watched him leave. All she muttered was: "And you call me a coward", but she wasn't sure whether he heared, and if so he obviously didn't care. Her eyes darted around for something to vent her anger on, now that the obvious target was gone. There on the table still lay that darned book she had come for. Auric's Tactics. She picked it up and leafed through it, but when her eyes spotted the drawings she slammed it back onto the table with such force a billow smoke rose up.
Alexander Redwood might have been like her once. But he sure as hell wasn't anymore!
Fuming she left the library to rejoin the ladies. This would gnaw at her for a while. But he wasn't worth any breath she wasted on complaining!
