Personality
The Ugly Duckling
As a boy Chase was a quiet, very mannered boy who responded to every command like a well trained circus animal. He would leap when a noble yelled leap or kneel in the dirt when the local bully screamed kneel. He wasn’t much of a fighter but more or less a frightened pacifist. Chase was always one to volunteering to do extra chores for hi mother or run an errand or two for his father or the neighbor and all out of goodwill.
When accepting the job offer as a nobles errand boy and servant, his even tempered personality shrunk even more into a mild and timid creature who often looked like a mouse chased by a cat, frightened and alone. He never back sassed anyone in general, even if they under ranked him. Always the one to speak with respect before anger.
The Swan King
When first employed by the Queen, his personality was mild and meek as ever, never speaking without being spoken to first and the replies were often monosyllable. He hid in the shadow of the Queen, for the first several months of his employment before warming up to his new status and began to display a new personality to fit in with the Nobility and those who followed the Queen around on her daily routine and to mask his secrete yearning to go back amongst the people who were his family and didn‘t turn their nose up at him.
He began an act of a rottenly rich child, one to react with fists instead of thought over simple arguments., . The dressed very vainly, his appearance seemingly mattering most to him as he acquired many fine and very expensive pieces of clothing. His sword had fine jewels in the hilt and his messenger bag crafted and stitched with marvelous craftsmanship. His new attitude bought him acceptance to those in the same profession who were just as snooty as their employers.
This cover up of his true, more soft and gentle nature was a perfect in creating a very cunning split personality boy. In the company of royals, he is snooty and arrogant and in the presence of the Queen, and the common class of people he was gentle as a new born kitten and polite as Monk.

The Back Story

History
Born in the lower district of Lamora to a poor family, Chase’s start didn’t seem to grand. He was destined to be a poor man cobbler from the start, for many in his neighborhood took the jobs their father had, continuing on a line of failure.
At the age of eleven he had the chance to change his future when a friend of his mother’s offered him a job following a lord around the palace as a miniature butler. He accepted with no second thought, for with this new job also came a education. He followed every order thrown at him including one that led him to his next employer the queen.
The Queen employed young Chase when she first encountered the boy as he delivered a message from his former employer to her. She simply found him adorable and took him under her wing to be tailored into a royal messenger and personal advisor to all matters she needs a second opinion on.
