Queen Tiana Roslyn Anne-Marie Hartlyn
THE BASICS
name: Queen Tiana Roslyn Anne-Marie Hartlyn alias: A Queen is a woman of grace. Nicknames do not become her. Perhaps “Your Highness”, “Your Majesty”, etc will do? age: Well, certainly not fourty-six if that is what you think... sexuality: straight job: Ruling Queen of Lamora place of birth: Lamora race: Lamoran, and proud to be. alliance: Herself, and since she is her Kingdom, therefore Lamora. canon or non-canon: canon
THE MIND
personality: What is in a name? Or rather a title. The name “Queen” is accompanied with so many details; what the kingdom expects of you, what you deliver as a ruler, even how you enter and exit a room. Queen Tiana manages to encompass every little detail of what is expected of her, and more in a way. She is just, but firm. She is graceful, but merciless in war. She is pondering but a woman of action.
A strong head is mounted on her royal shoulders, and she is not afraid to march straight into a situation knowing exactly what she wants to come from it. Many fear her, as they ought to, for she does have a fiery temper when things fail to follow through to what she expected of them. She has a firm heart, able to not gain great attachment to many things, therefore disallowing the enemy (whoever the enemy might be) to attack her with threats of home and family and treasures. She knows exactly what is good for this Kingdom called Lamora, and she will stop at nothing to keep it the peaceful way it is.
THE LIFE

history: Born into a joyous, respectable family scene, Tiana was considered the completion of the Royal family of Lamora. The fourth and youngest child, she grew up quite independent so as to escape the mollycoddling she was given through her childhood until she was five years of age. She spent the majority of her childhood chasing after the favor and the adventures of her two older brothers, Tobias and Cecil. She never ceased to cause herself to get into much trouble, though always instantly saved by her brothers, who deemed themselves her protectors and comrades the first moment she proved herself a strong companion on their countless quests. She was begged by her mother, her governess and everyone in between to spend just a little more time with her sister Lucenia, who was the pride of her family as the future queen of Lamora. Tiana, however, made it quite clear she did not favour her too-perfect elder sister.
It wasn't long, however, until Tiana was wrestled into dresses and banquets, society and graces, only beginning at the ripe age of nine. She still managed to find time to sneak off with her dearest brothers, until a real adventure arose, this being the beginning of the troubles between Lamora and Mar'vol. Both kingdoms began to grow uneasy if the other drew too close to their borders. It was during a simple exploration party that was lead by the young Prince Tobias, that Mar'vol's soldiers jolted like a pack of territorial wolves, and a small battle broke out right in the land between Mar'vol and Lamoran Kingdoms. Among all the lives to be taken in small Lamoran party was the eldest of the royal family, Tobias. This sent the entire Kingdom of Lamora into severe uproar, the Queen became too distressed to make an angry journey to the Courts of Mar'vol, so her husband the Royal Consort made the trip himself, accompanied with Cecil. The King, however, simply stated his sincerest apologies at the mistake made, and as a show of his loyalty to “peace” had all the guards involved in the attack on Lamora put to death. Gregoric would have continued the accusations upon the King of Mar'vol, had it not been for the news he received that the Queen of Lamora had fallen ill. The Queen's cause of death was concealed by the Royal Court, and the whole of Lamora fell silent to mourn the death of two in the Royal Family... Tiana was eleven.
Tiana herself grew three more years, to the age of fourteen, under the rule of her level-headed sister, who took on the title of Queen with the same air her mother had displayed while living. Lucenia had married the Grand Duke Reynauld Redwood at the same time as becoming Queen. Tiana (aged twelve at the time of the marriage) had at once stated that she didn't much care for the man Lucenia had chosen. A year after the match was made, Lucenia gave birth to her one and only son, Alexander. Tiana was indifferent to the thought of being an aunt.
Gregoric, meanwhile, became a harder soul after the death of his wife, pushing Lucenia harder each day to be a better Queen, reprimanding Cecil for his poor military tactics in training, and expressing very often his disappointment in his youngest daughter, who would often disappear from view for days at a time. Tiana hated her father, hated her sister, and made it quite clear every day how much she hated Mar'vol. Every moment she happened to make herself appear amongst her family, the first words uttered were how she wondered she could live around such cowards, screaming to attack Mar'vol, to seek revenge. A stinging slap from her father silenced her for a time. She never spoke to him again until he was found dead in his bed chambers one morning, cause of death never revealed, only hinted to complications of the heart. When asked by her sister if she was happy at what she had done, Tiana answered simply: 'yes.'
At age fifteen, Tiana began the training to be a Queen to follow in her sister's and mother's footsteps, since Lucenia had reached the age of twenty. As if to prove she could be twice as strong a ruler as her sister, Tiana excelled in her studies, her training duties, and even hardened the combat training that Cecil had begun to teach her some years ago while Tobias was still living. Angered, Lucenia found every reason to space herself from her younger sister, the two growing more hateful toward each other by the day, Cecil attempting to be mediator between them to no avail.
When Tiana turned age sixteen, there began to be murmurings coming from the direction of Mar'vol, causing agitation within the walls of Lamora, and many were turning to Lucenia for answers, answers she could not provide. Cecil, ever desiring to lend a hand, suggested to his sister that he take a small party with him to Mar'vol with the anticipation of settling rumours and forming an informal peace between the two Kingdoms. Tiana was furious, but Lucenia ignored her, agreeing to the offer. Cecil set out, but never returned alive, killed just a few miles outside of Lamora in a mysterious rain of arrows. This sent both kingdoms into severe revolt, after unnamed Royalty of Lamora bitterly accused Mar'vol of being the attackers. Mar'vol reared back with equal contempt, making suggestions that Lamoran soldiers issued friendly fire on the Prince. After all, claimed the Mar'vol people, the Lamoran soldiers do specialize in the military tactics of the bow and arrow. In the heated battle of words and riots that followed, the people of Lamora turned to their queen, who fell silent, for once unable to say any words of comfort or strength to her people or those of Mar'vol. Tiana remained the picture of strength, however, and addressed her people with hard words, level head, and the spirit of a true Queen. She even made a personal visit to the Kingdom of Mar'vol, the first and last time she ever passed their gates, demanding Mar'vol's silence and cooperation, instilling the base line for the coming years. Then question came of the absence of the ruling Queen Lucenia...
It soon spread through Lamora that Lucenia had snapped beneath the stress of a possible coming war. She suddenly became the object of ridicule amongst her once-loyal people, as she never focused, was never personally present in gatherings of the Royal Court, and her sister seemed to suddenly be placing everything in order than the strong Queen once managed. The truth was revealed quickly after this that Queen Lucenia had (quote) “misplaced her mind” (unquote), and the annoyed prods from Tiana to grow up and serve her Kingdom simply gave Lucenia the best idea. After a loud announcement at midnight from the window of her bedroom, addressed to her beloved people, Lucenia joined her father, her mother, and her two brothers by choice, taking a walk off her balcony. Lamora was thrown into uproar, the sixteen-year-old Tiana was quickly crowned Queen, and the wild tales of the Hartlyn-D'Alvar Family still lives on today, laughed quietly over in the local taverns...
Queen Tiana Roslyn Anne-Marie Hartlyn ruled her people with the air that had never been beheld in Lamora in a very long while, much to the anger of Grand Duke Reynauld, who took his young son away from Court as much as possible. Though she was of a young age, Tiana showed the maturity of her years with grace, dignity and strength, never faltering or showing weakness, as it did not become her. She preferred order, obedience and respect of the people she ruled, and though a hard ruler, she never showed injustice to any around her. Some year during her reign, she learned of the Grand Duke Reynauld's death and thought of his son, Alexander, understanding he would be likely to be much more present than his father had allowed. For some reason, this pleased and irked the Queen...
At age thirty, after refusing it long enough, she was introduced to her planned husband, Christoph D'venuto. She approved greatly of him, after learning that he too was of sound mind and understood that she was the ruler, and he would always be beneath her. Agreeing to the terms, the two married shortly afterward, and lived three years in the elegance of respectability toward each other. The Royal Court would even hear an occasional laugh uttered from the Queen herself, only when Christoph was near her, talking to her. The Kingdom thrived, threats her kept at bay, and life for once in Lamora was peaceful. It arose, however, in joyous celebration when the news of a future Queen was born into the Kingdom, named Christabel Rose, after her father and her mother. She was a beautiful thing to behold. In Tiana's opinion, nothing could ruin the life she had set up for herself. Until, ten months after her baby girl was born, on a normal hunting excursion through the lands, Christoph was thrown from his horse, crashing into the rocks of the Ryum River. He lived only three more days, fading in and out of consciousness, with Tiana ever watching over him, Lamora silent in the angst... Christoph D'venuto was given the largest funeral in the Kingdom. Queen Tiana was to rule alone again.
Sixteen years later shows a strong willed strategist known as the Queen of Lamora. A firm tongue, hard heart, and a sound mind, Queen Tiana is quite possibly the greatest ruler known to Lamora, or perhaps that is simply because the Lamoran people are too afraid to state otherwise. With a just hand she rules her Kingdom, her Court and her daughter with the only kind of love she knows to give: preparation for the war to come.
